Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Appalachian State University. She has experience working with clients in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings in rural and urban North Carolina. In the past, she has facilitated groups for peer support, grief support, university residential staff, and coping skills for patients in acute psychiatric inpatient care.
Her primary methods of treatment are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Exposure and Response Prevention, while also incorporating DBT skills and philosophical components. Ashley believes in a strong connection between Mind/Body health and works to encourage holistic well-being. Her areas of focus include anxiety, self-image, obsessive compulsive disorder, grief, and difficult life transitions. For Ashley, the most rewarding part of this work is seeing her clients taking steps to improve their well-being and making progress toward their goals. Starting therapy for the first time can be a scary and new experience, and Ashley will work with you at your pace and comfort level.
